A Happy Weekend

This past weekend was one that left me so happy Sunday night and my heart completely full. Nothing absolutely wonderful happened, but it was just a good, happy weekend.

Saturday night we decided to just stayed home and play. We cooked dinner and had a low key night just the 5 of us. I think I was sound asleep by 9:00 and I have no shame as I am trying to get as much rest as possible because marathon day is this SUNDAY!

Connor still comes to his perch for every meal to “watch Mama” he says.

Sunday morning started bright and early as I headed out for my last long run of the training. I had planned on 8 miles but the wind was absolutely insane. At some points I could barely even move the gusts where over 30 mph. So I figured the wind gave me some great resistance training and finished a little shy of 8.

The rest of our Sunday was going to mass and lunch at home. Close to nap time I set out for a solo trip to Target and the grocery. A Starbucks is conveniently located right on the way home so a fun treat was a great way to end the very quiet and productive shopping trip.

Sunday night we had some friends come over for pizza. These are some of our favorite people and left me feeling so happy at the end of the night. You know those friends who you may not see every weekend because life is busy, but when you get together everything just clicks? They are some of the most genuine people and make us laugh until our stomachs hurt.

I met Taylor after I moved back from Boston and got a job at a local hospital as I tried to figure out my next step. From the beginning I knew she was going to be a life-long friend. She is actually the matchmaker for Will and I. Taylor’s husband, Sean, and Will were great high school friends. We are so lucky to have them in our lives, they have 2 girls who are just the best with our boys and we love getting together with them. Our other friend, Brett (aka Uncle Brett to the kids) came over to join in the chaos of 5 kids for his Sunday night as well, because Brett never turns down an invite to hang out with friends, which is why we love him as well!

Will and I always say to each other we are so lucky. Sometimes we leave it open-ended and don’t say much else. After a weekend of being busy at the bakery, a quiet night at home, finishing my marathon training, and a night spent eating pizza and laughing with friends makes me feel so lucky to be surrounded by so many great people.

Have a great week friends!
