No Knead Bread

This is seriously the best bread.

Anybody can do it. Anybody. I am on week #3 of making this. It is fool proof.

Just 4 ingredients all just dumped and stirred in a bowl. Sit overnight (definitely have to plan ahead if you are wanting it for a meal). Baked off the next morning.

The next morning takes some time for rest and preheating of the oven.

No Knead Bread

  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Use a large plastic or stainless steel bowl. Measure out all the dry and then add the warm water. Stir everything up with a wooden spoon. It will look messy and not like a normal bread dough. Spray the sides of the bowl along the edge of the dough. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and sit on your counter over night.

The next day, preheat your oven to 450 degrees with some type of oven proof pot, I used a Le Creuset. Take a piece of parchment paper and cut it bigger than your pot and dust with flour. Use your hands or a plastic scraper to roll out your dough putting the seams down and using scissors to make two 1 1/2 inch cuts on the top in and X shape. Cover back up with plastic and rest 30 minutes. The dough rests and your oven and pot get preheated.

After the 30 minutes pick up the parchment by the ends and place it in your preheated pot. Be VERY careful the oven and the pot will be very hot!

Bake with your lid on for 30 minutes. Then, remove the lid and bake for another 20-30 minutes. The bread will be very dark brown, you do not want to under cook bread.

I have kept the bread wrapped up and we eat on it all week. It has been such a treat to have homemade bread to eat!
