My 33rd birthday was on Monday and we had a few days of celebrating the fun.

Will planned a fun night away to the French Lick Resort which is only about an hour and a half away from us. We got engaged there 7 years ago on my birthday and haven’t been back since so he thought it would be a fun way to celebrate!

We left late Sunday morning and went to the local winery for a tasting and lunch. Next, we headed to hike some trails that are right off the parking lot of the resort which makes it so convenient. We covered almost 9 miles and saw 5 deer over the course of the hike. It was the perfect afternoon involving some of my favorite things.

We then headed to check-in and get ready for dinner. We had a reservation at the 1875 Steakhouse which is located inside the French Lick resort. Our meal was amazing and we are both still talking about it.

French Lick is such a fun getaway that is close and has so much to offer. You can spend hours walking the grounds of both the French Lick and West Baden resorts. During the holidays they are decorated so beautifully with enormous trees and decorations. There is a huge casino, bowling for the kids, fancy spas, golfing, and so much more!

We came home late Monday morning to our sweet boys singing Happy Birthday and showing off the brownies they made with Memaw. I got snuggles with my boys, a run, and dinner with everyone and my mom to round off the most perfect birthday.

Birthday’s do not need to include anything elaborate in my eyes. However, they are a great reason to think about all the positive things that have happened over the year.

Turning 33 is going to be a huge change for me and lead me on a path I really never thought I would happily accept.

Having kids really changes your view on what is important in life. Over the summer we decided to sell the bakery at the end of this year. We have no idea where my next chapter is going to lead me, but I do know that I am beyond thankful for the support of my husband and family. This decision did not come easy and we know it is for the best. You can be sure another sappy bakery post will be coming in the next few weeks with more details.

I can’t wait to enjoy the next few months seeing where life will take me and soaking in the memories with my family.

Year #33 is going to be a good one!

  1. Happy Birthday! What a BIG Change to start this NEW Year of your life! I cannot wait to hear what you have planned once you are no longer at the bakery! 🙂

  2. It’s been an adventure with you, not only the past 33 years, but the past 8-1/2 with the bakery! I am so proud of what you have accomplished as a business owner but more proud seeing you be the most wonderful Mom to three precious boys!! The support from your amazing husband is beyond words!! I’m so thankful to call you my daughter!! Love, Mom (Memaw)
